ANnual zine

CALLING FOR SUBMISSIONS!

FUSE zine is a collaboration between Funmi Lijadu and Malik Kuku aimed at amplifying young voices, especially in the context of Nigeria, where young voices are largely overlooked.

Our first issue will be themed Metamorphosis; learning to unlearn. Metamorphosis is defined as  the process of transformation, a theme evident in issues personal and global. I chose this theme partly as a reflection on the importance of identifying and unlearning toxic behavioural patterns and ways of thinking.

I would love to hear from you and welcome submissions in the form of articles, essays, artwork, photography, poetry. If you are interested in submitting something that isn't listed here, get in touch because it might be suitable.

Send in your thoughts regarding identity, mental health(especially in a Nigerian context), disability, feminism, socio-economic inequality, religion and spirituality, lifestyle and any other topics relevant to metamorphosis.Other topics of interest include national unity (is Nigeria a country or a nation project?).

An important factor is authenticity. Remember to choose topics you care about but also most importantly, first hand experiences or a sophisticated understanding of issues is necessary to  discuss things in a useful way, reiteration of clichés should be avoided.

Please get in touch if you would like inquire or contribute by sending in art, photography, writing to flijadu@gmail.com
